17 Days Out: GTA 6 Ads Take Over Landmark Buildings Worldwide, and Walmart Pre-Orders May Include a Mystery Bag
Take-Two and Rockstar's international push is visible: GTA 6 artwork and logos have gone up on landmark buildings, giant LED screens and stadiums across multiple countries. Separately, Walmart online pre-orders picked up in store may include a "surprise and delight bag" from November 12 — though neither Walmart nor Rockstar has confirmed it.
Overview
With 17 days to go, GTA 6's marketing has shifted from media buys to physical occupation.
Landmarks go GTA 6
Take-Two and Rockstar's international push is now visible: official GTA 6 artwork and logos have appeared on building facades and sports venues across multiple countries, via giant LED screens, large-format vinyl banners and purpose-built installations, with sites ranging from modern stadiums to historic buildings. Photos of the wrapped buildings have been circulating widely on social media.
It's an escalation of the mid-October US street campaign, when hand-painted murals and Spotify soundtrack billboards went up at once on Hollywood Boulevard, in Brooklyn, across Chicago and in Times Square.
Some in the industry read the scale of the outdoor spend as a sign that the final build is being staged for physical distribution, and that the odds of another delay are falling. To be clear: that is practitioners' inference, not a guarantee from the developer.
The Walmart "surprise bag" rumour
Also making the rounds: Rockstar may be working with Walmart on an online pre-order promotion, where customers who order on Walmart.com and collect in store receive a "surprise and delight bag".
Here is the boundary between what's established and what isn't:
- Walmart's site does list a "Surprise and Delight" tag on physical pre-order pages for both PS5 and Xbox, marked "while stocks last"
- The page also states explicitly that the bag contains no physical disc
- The bonus is described as a GMD (General Merchandise Delivery) bag packed with "goodies", with no further detail
- It ships from November 12, in line with the preload window
What remains unknown: contents, participating stores, stock levels and whether it covers every edition. Neither Walmart nor Rockstar has announced it formally. Community guesses run from crisps and soda to a standalone map, pins or keyrings — but those are guesses.
One distinction worth drawing: this is separate from the $400 Collector's Edition, which genuinely does include a physical map and Vice City-themed collectibles.
Don't get November 12 wrong
Stated once more: November 12 is the preload date, not early access. Preloading fetches encrypted install files, and the boxed edition carries a download code rather than a disc. Play opens globally at midnight on November 19.

FAQ
Is the Walmart surprise bag real?
Unconfirmed. The claim originated with the social account Forward citing another account, and the original author received no reply from Walmart. Walmart's site does list a Surprise and Delight tag on physical pre-order pages for both platforms, while stating explicitly that the bag contains no physical disc. Contents, participating stores, stock and edition coverage are all unannounced.
Does getting the bag or the boxed edition on November 12 let me play early?
No. November 12 is the preload date and when boxed download codes are handed over. Preloading fetches encrypted install files, not early access; play opens globally at midnight on November 19. The boxed edition contains a download code, not a disc.
