GTA 6 Hits TV and Its Fast-Food Stands Open in an Arena: Miami Is Becoming Vice City
Two TV cuts of the launch trailer aired with small changes, including more of Raul dancing; physical Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell stands are serving inside Miami's Kaseya Center; and Gameranx reports the Vice Beach deal involves $300,000 to the city and $4 million to concessionaire Boucher Brothers, cancelable if permits aren't approved by November 1.
Overview
A month before launch, GTA 6's marketing has spilled from feeds onto the street. This week's developments:
The launch trailer hit TV. Per Polygon, two TV versions of the Oct 15 trailer aired with small changes from the original, including more of Raul dancing. TV placement is the standard closing move, which says Rockstar is in its sprint phase.
The game's fast-food chains are serving in a real arena. Per GameSpot and Radio Times, physical Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell stands are now serving food inside Miami's Kaseya Center — the fictional franchises turning up as real concessions in the building that hosts "A Night in Vice City" on Nov 18.
The Vice Beach deal isn't settled. Per Gameranx, the Miami Beach arrangement involves roughly $300,000 to the city and $4 million to concessionaire Boucher Brothers; permits had not been approved as of October 15, and the activation could be cancelled if approval doesn't arrive by November 1. That is a pending commercial arrangement, not a done deal.
The city itself is being converted. VICE and VGC track the wider campaign, with a Miami-Dade commissioner putting Rockstar's GTA 6 marketing spend at a minimum of $150 million. Between the "Welcome to Vice City" roof signage, a convoy of real cars wearing Leonida plates cruising the city, and Heat jerseys plus Court Culture apparel, the line between the real Miami and the fictional one is being erased on purpose.
