GTA 6 Download Size Reported at ~210GB on PS5, With Preload Opening November 12
PS Store backend tracker PlayStation Game Size reports GTA 6 at 210GB on PS5, with preload from November 12 and a midnight unlock on November 19 at $79.99 for Standard. The Xbox store lists no firm figure, and neither Rockstar nor Sony has published an official size.
Overview
On October 27, PlayStation Game Size — an account that tracks PS Store backend data — reported GTA 6's numbers: 210GB on PS5, preload from November 12, a midnight unlock on November 19, $79.99 for Standard. Kotaku and ComputerBase picked it up.
This is a data read, not an announcement. Neither Rockstar nor Sony has published a size; the Xbox store shows only a placeholder, so the Xbox build's real footprint is unknown. PlayStation Game Size has a strong track record, which makes the figure useful — but it stays reported, not confirmed.
What 210GB means
- It beats GTA 5's current-gen build (~110GB) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (~150GB), making it one of the biggest of the generation — though not a record, since several Call of Duty installs with DLC are larger.
- Xbox Series S owners feel it most: usable space on the ~512GB SSD is tight, and 210GB would take close to two-thirds of it.
- At 100Mbps, 210GB is about 4.7 hours; at 50Mbps, close to ten.
What to do now: clear roughly 250GB (headroom for the day-one patch), offload old installs to external storage, and enable auto / rest-mode downloads so November 12 starts on its own.
The number can still change before launch, and it excludes future updates, DLC and the unannounced online mode. We'll update this page when Rockstar publishes a figure.
