Overview

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, released October 15, racked up extraordinary numbers. Per YouTube metadata read by Leonida Explorer, it passed 11.19 million views within roughly twenty hours and stood at about 12.65 million views and 1.11 million likes when read on October 16. Earlier checkpoints showed 4.5 million in five hours and roughly 1 million in about half an hour. Around 98% of reactions are positive.

Fan sentiment clusters on "it finally feels real" and the sheer length of the wait: from the December 2023 debut trailer to the November 2026 launch, one viewer joked they were in middle school when GTA V shipped and now have a mortgage, two kids and back pain; others paid tribute to friends and family who didn't live to see the moment. GamesRadar's top comment reads, "I thought I would never live this moment."

Sony revealed two limited-edition GTA VI DualSense controllers. The black edition takes Vice City's neon nightlife, the white its daytime coastline; both share a colour-shifting finish, palm-tree moulding on the grips, a VI logo on the touchpad and pink face buttons. Internally they are standard DualSense pads with haptics and adaptive triggers, launching November 19 alongside the game at $84.99 in the US; pre-orders opened September 10 and the Direct listings have been flipping between low stock and unavailable.

Minor note: a Reddit debate over whether the trailer carries a "blurry filter" or heavy bloom is unresolved — Rockstar has not commented, so it remains a viewer-perception difference.
