GTA 6 Will Not Stream To PC Through Xbox, Despite Earlier Report
After a Verge report claimed Microsoft secured exclusive cloud-streaming rights to GTA 6, Xbox CSO Matthew Ball denied it: "The excitement for GTA 6 and Xbox is great to see, but it has also led to some misreporting." GTA 6 launches on Xbox November 19 but won't stream exclusively or to PC.
Overview
A Verge report citing an Xbox all-hands meeting claimed Microsoft had secured exclusive cloud-streaming rights to GTA 6 — sparked by CEO Asha Sharma telling staff Xbox was preparing to do "something no other platform holder is doing" around GTA 6. Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball has now denied it. His full statement: "While the excitement for GTA 6 and Xbox is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTA 6 on Xbox November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC." So PC players shouldn't expect to fire up Xbox Cloud Gaming on November 19 and roam Vice City without a console. (Xbox Cloud Gaming itself gets November changes like pay-as-you-go, unrelated to GTA 6.) GTA 6's official platforms remain PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; no PC version is announced.
