On October 15, Rockstar dropped the GTA 6 launch trailer with no warning. It is the first new story trailer since Trailer 2 (2025) — the one the community has been calling "Trailer 3."

Rockstar never numbers its trailers. "Trailer 3" is community shorthand derived from past marketing rhythms; the official name here is simply the launch trailer. That's why watching official channels beats watching for a number — Rockstar premiered the 26-minute An Extended Look (August 27, 2026) exclusively on Netflix and only put it up free six hours later, skipping the traditional trailer cadence entirely.
