GTA 6 Won't Make You "All-Powerful" Like GTA 5 Did
Rockstar's Rob Nelson says GTA 6 won't make players "all-powerful" like GTA 5 — NPCs will have impulses of their own and may come after you, making the world more unpredictable.
Overview
Rockstar boss Rob Nelson has stated that GTA 6 won't make players "all-powerful" like they were in GTA 5 and the games before it. In previous GTA titles, except for the police, the player was the only one with a hidden arsenal while everyone else fled in terror — "this world in GTA 6 is not like that." NPCs will have impulses of their own and may come after you: "the world will act upon you as well as you acting upon the world." You're still powerful and capable, but not the only one with weapons or violence. It extends Red Dead Redemption 2's "you're not the only dangerous person" design, making the world far more unpredictable — and ties into GTA 6's fugitive-couple story, where drawing needless attention shifts your criminal profile.
